Case Study: Midnight Electrical Fire at a University

Midnight Electrical Fire at a University

When an electrical fire broke out in a university campus center in the middle of the night, the flames were put out quickly, but the damage left behind was another story. Soot covered the walls, the smell of smoke filled the air, and debris scattered through multiple areas.

By 3:00 a.m., the MacFawn Fire and Flood Restoration team was already on-site. We arrived fully equipped with the gear, supplies, and manpower to take immediate action. Our first priority was to contain the damage, sealing off affected spaces to prevent soot and odor from spreading. From there, we got to work: wiping down every surface, clearing debris, and tackling the smoke odor before it could settle into the building.

The crew worked through the early morning hours and into the day, making tremendous progress before sunrise. To keep the momentum going, a second crew arrived later that morning to assist, ensuring every detail was addressed and the cleanup continued without missing a beat.

By the end of the day, the majority of the work was complete, and the facility was safe, clean, and ready for use again. Throughout the process, we kept open communication with the university’s facilities staff, updating them step by step. The job wrapped up faster than anyone anticipated, with staff praising our professionalism, thoroughness, and teamwork.

At MacFawn, we know emergencies don’t keep office hours, and neither do we. Whether it is 3 p.m. or 3 a.m., our team is ready to respond immediately and restore order when it is needed most.
